You are at a donation bin

Whatever you leave here gets opened by someone having a hard week.

This bin collects new, sealed essentials. Volunteers pack them into kits, and local partners hand them to people in Orange County at no cost.

  • New and unopened only
  • Free to the person who receives it
  • Packed by local volunteers

What this bin takes

Yes, please.

All four kit categories are welcome. One item is enough.

What this bin cannot take

  • Used, opened or partly used items

We cannot pack anything that has been opened.

  • Clothing that has been worn

We only pack new items, for dignity and hygiene.

  • Food past its date, or homemade food

Partners cannot hand out food we cannot vouch for.

  • Medication of any kind

Only a licensed provider can distribute medication.

  • Cash or gift cards left in the bin

The bin is not secure for money. Give online instead.

If this bin is full, please do not leave bags beside it. Open the map for the next closest location.

Before you drop it

Three things to know

  • 01

    Keep it sealed

Original packaging, nothing opened. That’s the one rule that really matters.

  • 02

    Any bag works

A grocery bag, a box, a tote. No sorting, no labeling, no special bin required.

  • 03

    No paperwork here

The bin has no forms. Drop what you brought and go.

One toothbrush or a whole carload. Bringing a group collection? Call +1 714-509-0003 first so somebody can meet you.

What a bag becomes

One bag is not a small thing.

  • Hygiene

Six to eight items fill one gallon bag.

  • Education

A backpack of standard supplies makes one full kit.

  • Disaster

A tote of sealed essentials becomes one kit.

  • New parent

Diapers, wipes and bottles start an infant kit.

Questions from the bin

Is my donation tax deductible?

Money given online is tax deductible through The Hack Foundation, our fiscal sponsor. Items dropped in a bin are not, and we cannot issue a receipt for goods.

Who packs what I leave here?

Local volunteers. They check that everything is sealed, sort it by kit type, then pack it into kits.

Where do the kits actually go?

To shelters, schools, clinics and community organizations in Orange County that request them. Always free to the person receiving one.

The bin is full or broken. What now?

Call +1 714-509-0003 and tell us which location it is, and check the map for the next closest bin. Please do not leave bags beside it. Weather, animals and cleanup crews ruin donations left on the ground.

Can my school or workplace host one of these?

Yes. We deliver the bin and the signage, then collect what your community fills. No cost, and nothing to design.

This bin is hosted by a local business or organization. ImpactKits does not own or staff it, and its hours are set by the host, so check the map before you make a special trip. If it is overflowing or damaged, call +1 714-509-0003 and tell us where it is.
